Religious School Committee

The Religious School committee is looking for new members! We are looking for people who can join the committee, as well as people interested in any of our subcommittees: These are:

(1) Policies - this subcommittee is refining and adding to Temple policies related to the religious school. Policies include issues like principal and teacher contracts, grade placement, field trip waivers, etc.

(2) Visioning - we are looking into new models for religious education for children as well as families. We welcome community members to help us move forward with this visioning process, as we consider entirely new models for Fall 2019.

(3) School support - this PTA-like group helps ensure that the religious school has the parent and community support it needs to run smoothly. This might include being at the Temple on a Sunday morning to greet students, picking up food for an event, or helping to set up or clean up before and after events.

Please email Rebecca Herz to join the committee, or with any questions! Please use the email youthcommittee@anshaiemeth.org.

Share The Good You Do

I would like to keep track of what our congregants do to help others, to help our community, to show others you care. Spread the word: I want to know what you do. I don’t need to know dollar amounts if you help by making donations to a charity, but let me know that you supported a cause. Let me know if you volunteered to do something with Anshai Emeth, your child’s school, your neighborhood association. Did you participate in a rally? Did you go around and clean up your neighborhood? We all do things that make a difference; I want to keep a record of what our congregation does.

Each month, I will list agencies we supported. I will keep track of the minutes we freely gave. I think we’ll all be surprised by the generosity of our membership. Social action does not have to be what one committee decides to address. Let me know what you, your family, does to help others.
